Rod Seaford - Head Coach Junior Boys

Seaford founded the Charlotte Royals in 1982 and is currently in his 29th year as Royals coach. He has compiled an overall head coaching record of 725-321.

Seaford's squads have collected 11AAU state titles and he has coached teams in 29 AAU national championship tournaments, 24 times as head coach. His teams have been medalists at the AAU nationals 11 times, and he has won 3 national championships. In 2003 he became the first amateur coach to win a gold medal for USA Basketball as the head coach of the Team USA South in the Youth Festival.

Coach Seaford is particularly proud that he has coached four sons of college coaches, and that at least 18 of his former players have coached in high school or college. He has coached 282 players who went on to play college basketball, 8 of whom played in the NBA, and 28 who played professionally in other leagues. His teams have played against opponents from 41 states, D.C., the Bahamas, Russia, and Belgium.

In 2006 he was inducted into the AAU Hall of Fame and in 2007 he became the first person selected to the NCAAU Hall of Fame.

Rod received his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and his law degree from William and Mary. He is a lawyer who lives and practices in Charlotte.

   
Shaun Wiseman - Associate Head Coach

2010 is Coach Wiseman's 9th year with the Royals.  He has the primary responsibility for skill development and is an integral part of all practice plans and bench decisions.   He is the head coach of United Faith Academy in Charlotte.   In seven years as a high school coach, his record is 191 - 44, with two state championship and six final four appearances. 21 of his players have moved on to play college basketball.   Shaun is the owner and president of Prep All Stars, which conducts camps, clinics and tournaments throughout the Southeast.

Sean Kilmartin - Assistant Coach

Coach Kilmartin is in his 10th season with the Royals, and has served as a head coach, assistant coach, and club administrator.   He played football and basketball at Appalachian State University, and was captain of the basketball team his senior year.   After college he played professionally for several seasons in Europe before beginning his career as a financial planner.   Sean has conducted basketball clinics in seven countries.   He makes an annual tour of Europe as head coach of Team USA Select, a team of ex-college stars.   He has also coached at Holy Catholic Middle School, and Charlotte Catholic High School.   As a head coach, he led Royals teams to two top 10 finishes in AAU National Championships.

   
Carlton Anthony - Assistant Coach

Coach Anthony returns to the Royals staff for his 11th season as an AAU coach. He won a state championship with his 15/u Royals team and he has coached in seven AAU national tournaments. Carlton played basketball at Olympic High and Livingstone College, and has been a teacher and coach in Charlotte since he received his degree. He served as assistant at Vance High during their state championship season. He then had a successful term as the Vance head coach before moving to Berry Academy. His wife, Annissa, is the assistant principal at Berry, and they have two children.

   
David Morrison

David is new to the Royals staff, but he brings eight years AAU coaching experience with him. He played his college basketball at Benedict College and is now an assistant coach at Queens Grant High in Charlotte. David and his wife Tonya have a son who is a senior at Queens Grant.
